In some translations, the phrase common sense appears in the book of Proverbs. It’s used to describe sound judgment, practical wisdom, and discernment. It reminded me of something I was told as a kid—and something I’ve repeated more than a few times to my own children: “Now that didn’t make common sense.”
More often than we’d like to admit, many decisions come down to just that—sound judgment, practical wisdom, and discernment. In other words: Common Sense Correction.
You know you shouldn’t spend that money.
You know you shouldn’t give your time to a toxic relationship. To do so is to override and ignore common sense.
When you give in to carnal desires, unchecked emotions, or manipulative social media marketing, you forfeit the correction and protection that common sense provides.
Here’s a word of wisdom: before making a decision, pause and listen for sound judgment, practical wisdom, and discernment—in short, common sense.
Blessings,
Apostle
