Leviathan: The King of Pride
Leviathan is described in Scripture as the king over all the children of pride. Its characteristics include:
• A crooked neck
• A hardened outer shell
• A tail that strikes without warning
When a person is influenced or even possessed by the spirit of pride, they will reject correction—no matter how clear or justified it may be.
God hates pride and actively resists those under its influence.
Ask yourself:
• Is it always someone else’s fault?
• Do you struggle to submit to authority?
• Does correction lead you to argue rather than reflect?
• Have people who love you—friends or family—called you stubborn?
• Are you resisting or dismissing even this very message?
If so, you may be operating under the influence of the spirit of pride.
But there is hope. Humble yourself through repentance and fasting. As you do, the grip of pride will break, and a fresh release of God’s grace will flow into your life.
