At its core fasting is a redirection.
Look at 2 Chronicles 7:14.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. "
Note the following: When God’s people humble themselves (humility is a submissive posture) and pray (prayer is a directive posture) and seek my face (seek is a pursuing posture) and turn from their wicked ways (repentance is a corrective posture), then I will forgive their sins and heal their lands.
Fasting and prayer not only breaks the power our fleshly will (Romans 7) it restores that which was lost due to error (sin)!
Declaration Prayer: Father, thank You for the corrective power of fasting that belongs to me as a believer. Fasting brings correction and direction to my life. I say yes to regular and Spirit-led times of fasting.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Blessings,
Apostle
